GCA 2010 Early Reflections

Life is Strange you never know what’s just around the bend
In my sad case I have a disease the consultants cannot mend
The cause they say “we’re in the dark” and “cure is still unknown”
And then they say “you’re not to worry –you’ll never walk alone”
But that’s alright them saying that, my life has changed forever –
Yet my heart is strong, my brain is quick and my dreams will forsake me never

GCA Hope and Reveries on my Birthday March 2010

This is the day when I reminisce
About those early days which I sadly miss
This is the day when I’ll always recall
My parents and brothers – I still think of them all

So I’ve had a poor year and I’m not at my best
My Health has been poor and I’m having a rest
But at the end of the tunnel there’s a light to discover
So just mark my words – I’m going to recover

James Cook University Hospital - a sister

This sister is a treasure and that’s the way she’ll stay
I’ll treat her like a lady – in the good old fashioned way
Now, when I chance to meet her I tarry for a while
To gaze upon her countenance and her Mona Lisa smile

One of Kens’ favourite poems
By W H Davies 1871- 1940

What is this life if, full of care
We have no time to stand and stare

No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep and cows

No time to see, when woods we pass
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass

No time to see in broad daylight
Streams full of stars like skies a night

No time to turn at beauties glance
And watch her feet how they can dance

A poor life this, if full of care
We have no time to stand and stare
